About
About the Global Credit Literacy Index
An independent annual research publication by Investara Research measuring credit literacy across nations.
Section 01
Mission
The Global Credit Literacy Index (TGCLI) exists to provide an independent, rigorous, and transparent benchmark for measuring credit literacy across nations. By establishing a standardized framework for assessment, we aim to inform evidence-based policymaking, guide financial education initiatives, and advance consumer protection worldwide.
Section 02
Why the Index Exists
Credit literacy is a foundational capability for economic participation, yet no comprehensive global measurement existed before TGCLI. While financial literacy surveys capture broad financial knowledge, credit-specific literacy — the understanding of credit systems, rights, responsibilities, and consequences — remains largely unmeasured at scale. TGCLI addresses this gap.
Section 03
Research Philosophy
We believe that rigorous measurement drives meaningful change. Our research is grounded in methodological transparency, data integrity, and editorial independence. We present findings as they are — without advocacy bias or commercial influence — trusting that good data speaks for itself.
Section 04
Editorial Standards
All TGCLI publications adhere to the highest standards of research integrity. We maintain clear separation between research findings and policy recommendations. All data sources are documented. Methodological choices are explained and justified. Limitations are openly acknowledged.
Section 05
Publication Process
Each edition of the Index undergoes a rigorous multi-stage process: data collection and validation, country assessment, internal peer review, external consultation, revision, editorial review, and publication. This process typically spans 8–12 months from data collection to publication.
